Doha, Qatar: The Department of Meteorology has warned of thundery rain accompanied by strong winds and high sea conditions in parts of the country tonight.
In its daily weather report, the department said the inshore weather until 6am on Monday will be partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered rain that may be thundery at first, with relatively cold conditions expected later.
Offshore areas will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain that may become thundery at times, the report added.
The department warned that thundery rain may be associated with strong winds initially.
Wind inshore will be mainly southeasterly to southwesterly at a speed of 5 to 15 knots, gusting up to 25 knots with thundery rain at first, shifting to northwesterly later.
Offshore winds will be mainly southwesterly to southeasterly at 5 to 15 knots, gusting up to 25 knots during thundery rain.
Sea state inshore will range between 1 and 3 feet, rising to 5 feet with thundery rain, while offshore it will be 2 to 4 feet, rising to 8 feet during thundery rain.
Visibility inshore will range between 4 and 9 kilometers, dropping to 3 kilometers or less during thundery rain at first. Offshore visibility will be 4 to 9 kilometers, falling to 3 kilometers or less with thundery rain.
