DOHA: The popular bike group, Soul Riders in Qatar, has donated QR86,871 to Qatar Charity (QC) to build a mosque with all facilities in Bangladesh.
Khaled Al Hammadi, Founder, Soul Riders, presented a cheque on behalf of the team to Nayef Al Rumihi, Head, Board of Directors, QC. The mosque will be built on an area of 120sqm where a well will be drilled to provide drinking water through a hand pump.
Al Hammad said, “The donation is the outcome of the third charity exhibition for motorcycles and classical cars recently organised by the team in Qatar.  He said it was not the first time for the team to work with QC and would not be the last.
The team is working on expanding partnership with QC to serve and help develop the Qatari community in particular, and humanitarian work in general. “Soul Riders are willing to pay field visits in coordination with QC to shed more light on the importance of relieving others and offering humanitarian aid,” he added.
After receiving the donation, Al Rumihi presented Al Hammad with the QC’s shield as an appreciation for their efforts, hard work to help the needy and attempts to introduce humanitarian and charity work through their events.
Soul Riders presented QC with a certificate of appreciation for its innovative role in charity work.
QC is the true face of Qatar and its work and worldwide projects reflect that clearly. It implements projects through its field offices and international, regional and local partners, the group said. Because of the need for religious awareness, the mosque project is being implemented. Drilling a well is also necessary to limit the spread of diseases resulting from polluted water.
Soul Riders want to contribute to increasing the number of people who go to pray at mosques and raise awareness about Islamic regulations in Bangladesh. They also hope to help protect poor people from polluted water and offer them clean water.
QC’s office in Bangladesh will supervise the project and the drilling of the well. The project is expected to be completed within a year from the date of implementation. The Peninsula
