Doha: Minister of Transport H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti met in New Delhi with Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways of the Republic of India H E Shri Sarbananda Sonowal (pictured above).
The two ministers reviewed Qatar-India cooperation in the areas of commercial ports and discussed ways to enhance economic partnership in maritime navigation services.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed on expanding the scope of the network of navigation lines that connect Hamad Port with India, and which currently stands at six seaports in India: Mundra, Kandla, Cochin, Tuticorin, Nhava Sheva and Hariza.
Charge d’Affairs at the Embassy of the State of Qatar to India Ali bin Mohammed Al Badi also attended the meeting.
The Minister of Transport also met in New Delhi with Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India H E Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari.
The two ministers reviewed Qatar-India relations in the areas of transportation and associated infrastructures, as well as road construction works and tunnels.
They also discussed ways to enhance and push cooperation to new heights with relation to eco-friendly transportation services.
