Students and school staffs during a round of Inter-school Quiz Competition
Doha: As a part of the celebration of ‘Constitution Day of India,’ DPS – Modern Indian School, in association with the Embassy of India, recently conducted the second edition of the Inter-School Quiz Competition on the theme ‘Indian Constitution– Principles And Values’ for all the students of Indian Schools.
The competition, aimed at reinforcing core values among all the global citizens of tomorrow, saw enthusiastic participation from 10 Indian schools in Qatar.
After the preliminary round, four teams: Shantiniketan Indian School, MES Indian School, Noble International School, and DPS-Modern Indian School, comprising two students each qualified for the final round. The day witnessed the scuffle of grey cells as the teams pitted against one another to win the title.
Brainstorming questions focusing on the preamble, significant features and basic principles of the Indian Constitution, fundamental rights, duties, and the key role of the drafting committee and its architect Dr. B R Ambedkar, were asked to the ace quizzers. They left no stone unturned to add to the magnificent glory of their respective schools.
Four rounds of the mind sport, each different from the other, proclaiming novelty as the benchmark, made it a real celebration of the supremacy of knowledge.
MES Indian School team consisting of Aakash Paul and Krishnendu Venugopal made steady progress and were crowned as the winners, followed by Noble International School team with Blessy Boby and Shresth Shandilya and DPS-Modern Indian School team with Tejaswi Manoj and Ankush for the first runner-up and second runner-up position respectively.
The principal of DPS-MIS, Asna Nafees, congratulated all the winners and the participants on their success and thanked the Indian Embassy for entrusting the institution with such an important responsibility. She also appreciated the meticulous efforts of the Quiz team in conducting the competition so adeptly and impeccably.
The show was compered by DPS-MIS students Sparsh Chawdhary, Sneha Chandnani, Saumya Murgai, and Manogna Jayi under the guidance of Vice-Principal and Head of Activities Soma Bhattacharjee and Quiz Coordinator Aditi Srivastava.
