Qatar Red Crescent Society starts project in Somalia regions

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched the 3rd phase of Integrated Rehabilitation & Development Project in Lower Shebelle, Middle Shebelle, and Banaadir Regions of Somalia.

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched the 3rd phase of Integrated Rehabilitation & Development Project in Lower Shebelle, Middle Shebelle, and Banaadir Regions of Somalia.
The $2m project is co-funded and co-implemented by QRCS and the Islamic Dawa Organisation.
A bunch of development activities will be undertaken under the project, in the fields of agriculture, land reclamation, agricultural input, primary health care, and water & sanitation.
These activities will benefit 121,000 families of Balad, Hawadley, Kurshale, Mukidhere, and Banaadir.
The purpose of the project is to improve the living conditions of poor local communities by securing basic services in health care, education, and food security. Other activities will include infrastructure rehabilitation; digging of irrigation canals and water wells; and building of cross-canal bridges, schools, and mosques.
During the inauguration ceremony, Mohamed Sunni, Mayor of Balad, appreciated QRCS' charitable efforts and significant contributions to Somalia, in relief, health care, agriculture, and other aspects.
