DOHA: The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, and his accompanying delegation visited Katara on Wednesday.
Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti welcomed the Prime Minister and his delegation and took them around Katara’s facilities, including the Katara amphitheatre and the Opera House.
The delegation was also briefed on the main cultural and business facilities, in addition to Katara’s future projects.
Browne expressed his admiration and appreciation of the current and future Katara facilities and projects, saying: “It was a lovely and informative tour, as we were introduced to this unique cultural landmark in Qatar, with all the outstanding cultural and architectural facilities hosted by the Cultural Village’s hub.”
The Premier also expressed his pleasure over having the opportunity to witness the multi-faced development projects launched by Qatar, particularly those that grant international recognition to the country in the process of its transformation into a modern state.
“We are looking forward to benefit from this remarkable experience. I would also like to thank Katara for the warm hospitality and wish them all the success in their tireless efforts to serve the cause of culture and bringing people from various regional and international backgrounds together under the umbrella of art and culture. This is truly an outstanding message and vision,” said Browne.
Al Sulaiti stressed the importance of such visits to Katara as it continues its endeavours to gain stronger recognition as a top regional and international, cultural and tourist hub in Qatar and the GCC, noting that such meetings reflect and enhance Qatar’s position on the map of development powerhouses, particularly, in the cultural field.
Following the tour, Al-Sulaiti presented Browne a model of the amphitheater as a memento.
