
Doha: Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) following the latest world class tennis methodology creates the new tennis developing programme “Qatar Tennis 10s”.
Qatar Tennis10s is for players aged 10-and-under, played on smaller courts with slower Red, Orange and Green balls.
It is a fun way to start tennis and makes it easy for children to play the game, develop good technique and tactics and a love for the sport.
Tennis 10s Long Term Developing Plan outlines what QTF wants to accomplish over the next four years.
Coordinator of “Tennis 10s,” George Papachatzis pointed out to the goals QTF wants to achieve is to make the tennis a leading sport and recreational activity nationally in Qatar and create a quality system which produce promising tennis kids.
“Tennis 10s Long Term Developing Plan process is an opportunity to identify and develop the next generation of successful international players,” he said.
Tennis 10s Developing Players programme contains different ages and stages including: Blue stage 4, 5 years old - Red stage 6, 7 years old - Orange stage 7, 8 years old - Green stage 9,10 years old.
The focus of the programme is building a continued development and moving from progressive stages to full court tennis skills.
The players are continually trained and supported by physical training programmes, technical and tactical skills, proper training annual planning, proper competition annual planning, proper metrics - evaluation annual planning, sport science services and individual training plan.
