This year’s event, which will be the largest of its kind in the region, will have the theme “Arab business women: agents of change”. It will cover six sessions and will feature 37 speakers from 13 different countries. Key speakers for the opening session will include H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry; Bart Kahir, President and General Manager of Exxon Mobil Qatar, Wael Sawan, CEO and Chairman of Qatar Shell and Aisha Al Fardan, Vice-President of the Association of Qatari Businesswomen, in addition to Raed Chehaib, CEO of event-organizers IBN.

Aisha Al Fardan said: “The Qatar International Business Women Forum has quickly established itself as the region’s leading platform for discussion and action on the issues surrounding women in business. Year-on-year this event has grown in popularity and also gravitas and we are delighted to welcome some very influential speakers to our forum this coming year.

“Topics under discussion will include leadership in business, capitalising on women’s capabilities and removing obstacles in business and society to help them become leaders.”

IBN’s CEO Raed Chehaib said: “Business women are the main catalyst for change in the Arab world, so there has never been a better time to raise the important talking points in this forum.

“The increasing popularity and prestige of this forum is testament to its scope – the hottest topics of the moment are discussed freely and frankly and it has been a great platform for encouraging change in the industry to enable more women to become business leaders.”
