Layal Kobti, Marketing Manager of ORYX Food Services, Francois Rousseau, Group GM/COO, ORYX Food Services, and Morne Jones, Operations Manager of Nando’s, handing over the funds to Ciby Mathew, Director of Hope Qatar.

Nando’s, the South African casual dining restaurant chain, announced that it has raised QR38,010 for the special needs centre — Hope Qatar.

The contribution was presented to the centre during a gathering at Nando’s Financial Square branch on Saturday.

The restaurant launched a Ramadan campaign where it offered customers a meal in which a fixed sales percentage was donated to Hope Qatar.

The charity organisation has been operating for four years and focuses on supporting, educating and inspiring children with special needs.

Commenting on the event, Francois Rousseau Group General Manager of Oryx Group for Food services, said: “Nando’s is extremely happy with the outcome of its Ramadan campaign, we’re grateful to be a part of this social cause and will support Hope Qatar in its mission to help these children develop and play an active role in society. Our objective is to initiate change in the Qatar community; we will continue to strive hand in hand with similar charity organisations to make a difference. A big thank you to all of our customers who made this donation possible, their active involvement and contribution is greatly appreciated”.

Under the “Chicken with a Heart” umbrella, Nando’s is supporting Qatar Cancer Society, where it is running a Pink campaign to raise breast cancer awareness in the country.
