UAE and LG officials at the Gitex Shopper.

LG Electronics (LG) unveiled for the first time in the UAE, the world’s first curved OLED TV and LG G2 mobile phone at the Gitex Shopper.

Crowds gathered to admire the curved OLED TV (55EA9800), which features perfect contrast, absolute motion clarity and a display that produces a pristine image, no matter the viewing angle.

The television shared the spotlight with the innovative LG G2, the first mobile with rear-buttons and the slimmest bezel in the market. The electronics company also showcased its Ultra HD TV (LA9700), completing a product line-up that signals the brand’s commitment to premium design and ground-breaking technology.

“The home entertainment sector is fuelled by constant change and growth with new products entering the market every day. LG is committed to leading that growth, offering the latest and innovative entertainment products to enhance your entertainment experience in the UAE and abroad,” said D Y Kim, President of LG Electronics for the Gulf. Spanning 77 inches diagonally, the largest curved HD OLED screen features an IMAX-like curvature that fills the viewer’s field of vision more completely than a flat-screen TV.

The 77-inch Ultra HD Curved OLED TV combines LG’s exceptional WRGB OLED and Ultra HD technologies, enabling it to produce infinite contrast ratio and resolution four times greater than regular full HD.

The design of the television won the Red Dot design: Best of the best award in March followed by multiple Quality and Performance awards from TÜV Rheinland and Inter-tek to name a few. The full Ultra HD OLED TV line-up will be available for consumers in 2014.

Televisions on display at Gitex Shopper may have had the larger screen size, but the 5.2-inch LG G2 held its own fans as they were treated to a demonstration of the smartphone. Delivering the same innovative concepts and quality that LG’s latest TVs display, the phone was designed to reflect how people use their mobiles every day, featuring an industry-first Rear-Key, a 5.2-inch Full HD display screen, and a 13MP Optical Stabilizer (OIS) camera.
