Doha: DPS-Modern Indian School has encouraged staff members to attend the CBSE webinar on ‘Importance of Physical Fitness in a Students Life’ through Zoom platform. Baswaijit Saha, Director, skill education and training, opened this session.

Baswaijit has welcomed Pullela Gopichand for addressing the young generation by sharing his views about the physical fitness. Baswaijit said that If one can fit physically then that individual can be fit mentally, and if the individual is both mentally and physically fit, then only all academic activities and researches can be sorted out and discussed.

The first speaker Pullela Gopichand is a former Indian Badminton player, presently he is the chief national coach for the Indian Badminton team and physical literacy promoter. He shared his own experience in sports.

“From last 30 years we as a nation has grown alphabetically and numerically but actually gone down physically. In 80’s and 90’s nature was available for physical activities. But today in the absence of nature, simple physical activities like jumping, catching, climbing, throwing are not possible for students,” said Gopichand.
