DOHA: Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has launched the ‘Seventh Forum of RAF Partners in Humanitarian Work’ in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The forum was attended by officials from the Qatari Embassy, the deputy director of RAF and representatives of 60 international humanitarian organisations.
It is being held for five days in partnership with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) under the theme ‘From Providing Aid to Ending the Need’.
About 65 executive directors of projects from the organisations in 25 countries will receive training and attend workshops for international Projects Management Development (PMD) conducted by PM4NGOs and will receive certificates.
In a speech, Mohamed Ahmed Al Manae, Qatar’s Charge d’Affaires in Malaysia, welcomed attendances and highlighted Qatar’s humanitarian role which has put the country among the top nations in the world supporting humanitarian work.
He said: “We are witnessing RAF’s development in humanitarian services, its work with partners and efforts towards sustainable development.”
Dr Mohammad Salah Ibrahim, Deputy General Manager, RAF, said the launch of the forum is part of RAF’s goals, including development of charity work and people and those who support it.
