DOHA: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has launched the ‘Halal Livelihood’ programme on its YouTube channel to raise awareness about ‘Halal living’ under Islamic faith.
The programme will be broadcast on the Ministry’s YouTube channel throughout Ramadan. It is the latest of a series of initiatives of the Ministry to mark the Holy Month under the theme ‘#Aqal_Min_Al_Wajeb,” the Arabic for “#the_least_we_can_do.”
“The programme aims to raise awareness about halal living under the Islamic faith and highlight the value and importance of professional and vocational work in elevating states and societies,” the Ministry said in a statement. It highlights the importance of seeking halal earnings as defined by Islamic law and tackles the importance of work for people. It gives answers on the reasons behind the existence of humans and their mission on the earth and explains the true meaning of trusting in Allah.
The programmer will be presented by Abdallah Al Bouainain on Monday and Thursday following noon prayers during Ramadan.
The first episode will be aired on Thursday. The Ministry has invited the public to follow the programme on its YouTube channel under the name MEC_QATAR. The Ministry recently launched Al Baraka corporate social responsibility programme; a campaign to bolster the productivity of bakeries’ and a campaign to regulate gold and jewellery businesses and monitoring commercial activities and markets.
