DPS-MIS students win Qatar preparatory school debate

Doha: The junior girls of DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) participated in Qatar Preparatory School Debate League-II and bagged the first place among all schools by winning 8 out of 9 debates. 

In the team category, Team Gargee Kanade, Manjushree Magesh and Anah Merchant bagged the first position followed by Team Drishti Tibrewal, Antara Alurkar and Geetika Yalamanchili at 2nd place and Asin Ashraf, Vaidehi Rogiye and Amishi Negi at 6th place. 

In the individual category, Amishi Negi, Anah Merchant and Vaidehi Rogiye shared the 3rd position, Drishti Tibrewal stood at 6th place, Manjushree Magesh and Antara Alurkar at  7th place, Gargee Kanade and Geetika Yalamanchili at 12th place, while Asin Ashraf earned 18th position.

The tournament was conducted via online platform ‘Discord’ and 101 debaters, 34 teams from 19 different institutions participated in it. 

It consisted of 3 debate rounds with two prepared and one impromptu motion. DPS-Modern Indian School participants were accompanied by their coach Jaya Majumder.
