Doha: Ooredoo supported the Sri Lankan community at the 68th Sri Lankan Independence Day celebrations on Friday at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Doha.
The partnership, which is part of the company’s vision to support every section of the community, saw Ooredoo host a booth to promote its lowest rates for costumers to contact and send money to their loved ones in Sri Lanka.
The 68th Independence Day event featured cultural activities, including a performance by the renowned ensemble The Sparrows Dance Troupe, Sri Lankan actress Sheril Romen Dekker, and Ruwan Hettiarachchi.
Ooredoo’s support aimed to enhance unity and integrity of the diverse communities of Sri Lanka living in Qatar.
Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director Community & Public Relations, Ooredoo, said: “Joining in with the event was a great way to show that we are all part of Qatar’s communities, and give everyone the opportunity to experience Sri Lanka’s strong traditions. Congratulations to all involved for creating such a joy-filled and educational event.”
Ooredoo’s support was in line with its pioneering Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy to provide sponsor grassroots activities for the community.
