Doha, Qatar: China's Wang Chuqin secured a spectacular 4-0 victory over top seed Fan Zhendong to successfully defend his men's singles title at the WTT Finals Doha 2023. At Lusail's Infinity Arena, Wang claimed the victory with scores of 11-8, 11-9, 14-12, and 11-7.
Wang, who had previously lifted the trophy for the first time at the WTT Cup Finals Xinxiang 2022, also became the first player to retain the men's singles title at the prestigious event.

Entering the final with a challenging head-to-head record of 3 wins to Fan's 9, Wang faced an uphill battle, having lost three out of four encounters during the 2023 season, including the title match at the 2023 ITTF World Championships Finals in Durban. Despite the odds stacked against him, The 23-year-old Wang drew inspiration from his recent victory over Fan in the 2023 Asian Games final last October.
Earlier, Yuan Licen and Xiang Peng won their inaugural WTT Finals Men's Doubles title after defeating the experienced pairing of Lin Gaoyuan and Lin Shidong in straight games (11-8, 11-2, 11-8) in a all-Chinese final.
