Father Emir hosts dinner banquet for Saudi King

Doha: In the presence of H H the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, H H the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani hosted a dinner banquet at Al Shaqab in honor of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the delegation accompanying him.

A Taramul show, which is an authentic Qatari heritage tradition related to horses and war, was performed at the outset of the ceremony. After that, poets Shabib bin Arar Al Nuaimi, Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Attiyah and Saleh Al Manaa recited poems in welcome of the Saudi King, expressing the depth of historic ties between the two countries.

In turn, Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) Vice Chairperson and CEO, HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al-Thani, briefed King Salman on QF’s achievements and scientific and research contributions as well as its role in service of sciences, research and communities at the local, regional and international levels. She also explained about the universities and the specializations they have.

The Emir directed that an area inside Education City be allocated to Saudi Arabia to establish an academic project that contributes to diverse knowledge enrichment.

The Emir also presented international award winning authentic Arab horses from Al Shaqab as a gift to the King.

H H Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani, personal representative of the Emir, attended the ceremony along with Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al-Thani, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Thani, H E Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, H E Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al-Thani, a number of their excellencies sons of the Father Emir and a number of their excellencies members of the ruling family and ministers.

From the Saudi side, HRH Prince Abdulilah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, adviser to the custodian of the two Holy Mosques, attended the ceremony as well as HRH Prince Khalid bin Fahd bin Khalid bin Mohammed Al Saud, HRH Prince Mansour bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, HRH Prince Saud bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud along with a number of princes and ministers members of the accompanying delegation.
