DOHA: The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) celebrated the 201st birth anniversary of the university’s founder “Sir Syed Ahmad Khan” on October 26, 2018 at Oryx Rotana Hotel in Doha.
Prof Tariq Mansoor, Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh (India) was the chief guest from India and Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Towar Al Kuwari, First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber was the chief guest from Qatar.
Over 350 Alumni and AMU well-wishers gathered for the evening to remember and appreciate achievements of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. Jawed Ahmad, President of the AMU Alumni Association Qatar gave the welcome address including a brief about Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.
He proposed the launch of a standard AMU Alumni Association logo and requested the Vice Chancellor to become the ex-officio patron of all Alumni Associations worldwide.

Later on Proposal of AMUAAQ Patron was accepted by Prof. Tariq Mansoor (VC-AMU) to strengthen the AMUAAQ and global Alumni forum for the development of university.
The AMUAAQ also presented initiated proposals to the Vice Chancellor for partnership between Qatar Petroleum and AMU Engineering college for research and training. Another proposal for setting up of an offshore AMU campus at Doha was presented to Vice Chancellor for his consideration.
Prof Tariq Mansoor, Vice-Chancellor of A.M.U in his address said that the university is progressing by leaps and bounds. He appreciated the role of the Alumni groups who generously supported the development and construction projects in the University.
In his speech the Vice-Chancellor praised highly the A.M.U Alumni Association-Qatar for the great efforts it is making for the progress of the University. He brought the compiled presentation & AMU tarana with aerial view was amazing and appraised by all.
