Qatar exchange index drops 14.97 points this week

DOHA: Qatar Exchange index lost 14.97 points this week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 11,770.25 points.

Trading value during this week decreased by 12.64 percent to reach about QR884.28m compared to about QR 1.01bn.

Trading volume decreased by 21.38 percent to reach 18,244,672 shares, as against 23,206,055 shares, while the number of transactions fell by 46.96 percent, to reach 15,785 transactions as compared to 29,763 transactions.

Market capitalization fell by 0.33 percent to reach about QR624.4bn as compared to QR626.44bn at the end of previous week.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week with 40.21 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 24.48 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 15.76 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 6.60 percent.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 32.28 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 27.10 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 16.09 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 10.07 percent, reports QNA.

From the 43 listed companies 11 ended this week higher, while 30 fell and two remained unchanged.

Masraf Al Rayan led trading value this week accounted for 18.45 percent of the total traded value. Gulf International Services accounted for 9.61 percent and Barwa Real Estate accounted for 9.44 percent.
