Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, has launched an intensive Quran programme in Madinah for 30 outstanding Qatari students from Al Noor Educational Quranic Centre and Al Emadi Educational Quranic Centre, as part of its efforts to nurture a generation distinguished by Quranic excellence, sound Islamic values and leadership.

The programme, running from July 2 to 13, 2026, is being held at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah and forms part of the ministry’s specialised educational and training initiatives implemented by the Quran and Quranic Sciences Section.

The initiative aims to enhance students’ Quran memorisation, revision and recitation skills while making productive use of the summer break through academic and faith-based activities designed to develop well-rounded Quranic personalities in a spiritually enriching environment.

The 30 participants, selected from among the centres’ top-performing students, are following personalised learning plans tailored to their academic level and educational needs to maximise progress in memorisation, revision and mastery of Quranic recitation.

The ministry said the programme is part of a broader strategy to identify, support and develop talented Qatari students in Quran memorisation by providing advanced educational and character-building opportunities that strengthen both their academic abilities and personal development.

It added that these initiatives seek to deepen young people’s connection with the Holy Quran, instil Quranic values in their daily lives, promote discipline, responsibility and commitment, and prepare them to become positive role models capable of serving their religion, community and country.

The Quran and Quranic Sciences Section also continues to implement a range of specialised initiatives to strengthen the ministry’s Quranic centres and improve their educational outcomes, supporting the preparation of qualified national talent in the fields of imamate, preaching, religious guidance and Islamic education.

Head of the Quran and Quranic Sciences Section and supervisor of the programme, Fahad Ahmed Al Mohannadi, said the course reflects the ministry’s commitment to developing a distinguished Quranic generation whose relationship with the Quran extends beyond memorisation to understanding, reflection and practical application in everyday life.

He noted that the ministry’s educational Quranic centres attract high-achieving Qatari students from Quran memorisation circles and provide specialised programmes that nurture their talents and prepare them to become qualified imams, preachers and Islamic scholars capable of conveying the message of the Quran while serving their religion and nation.

Al Mohannadi added that the ministry remains committed to providing advanced educational opportunities that enable outstanding students to achieve high standards in Quran memorisation and Quranic sciences, qualify them to represent Qatar in regional and international Quran competitions, and equip them with knowledge in Sharia, imamate, preaching and religious guidance.
