DPS-MIS conducts sessions on core skills

Doha: An orientation programme for the faculty members of English, Science and Social Studies of Grade I to VIII, was conducted in two sessions on March 26 at DPS-MIS.

The first session focused on the topic, ‘Core Skills’ and the second one dealt with Active Teach and the resource persons for the same were invited from India.

Sapna Sukul ,in her enlightening session, emphasised on the basic core skills such as critical thinking, creativity and imagination, communication and collaboration to enhance teaching learning process.

The difference between Deep learning and Surface Learning, Bloom’s Taxonomy, the importance of Group Learning were discussed at length derive specific learning objectives.

Sapna Sukul also underscored the need for inclusive education, gave valuable tips on planning, and suggested ways to inculcate good reading habits among children.

The second session was on Active Teach conducted by Inderpal Singh about the introduction and usage of the new sets of English, Science and Social Studies Text Books and the online way of accessing it within the classroom with enough classroom activity icons.  

The interactive session also proved to be a platform for the teachers to clarify their queries and share their touching experiences in their professional field.
