Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will announce his retirement from the National Football League on Monday, bringing an end to an illustrious career that will surely land him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, nfl.com reported on Sunday.

Manning, one of the most prolific passers in NFL history, revolutionized the quarterback position during an 18-year career that included two Super Bowl titles, five most valuable player awards and a slew of passing records.

The decision by Manning, who turns 40 later this month, ensures he goes out on top having won his second Super Bowl with an upset victory over the Carolina Panthers last month.
