• Citizens have lauded the Civil Defence authorities’ decision to ban use of LPG in eateries near fuel stations, and said it is a good safety measure in the light of the explosion in a restaurant near Landmark mall last week.
• Many people have criticised what they consider poorly planned location of public parks in the country, with a mismatch between the number of parks and the population of the area. Some parks are closed apparently without a valid reason even when there are too few parks and sport facilities for families.
• There is discussion on the statement by a Woqod official denying any defect in a Woqod gas tank at a restaurant near Landmark mall where an explosion occurred last Thursday. The tank was found with a large quantity of gas in it, meaning the explosion was not caused by the tank. Investigation by the Ministry of Interior will reveal the cause of the blast.

• A suggestion to add a letter to vehicles’ registration numbers is under study. This will allow repetition of numbers, and vehicle owners will be able to choose the letter.
