Two interactive lectures at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar) and Qatar National Library in Education City by renowned designer Taekyeom Lee (pictured) will look at how technological convergence and digital manufacturing processes using computer numerical controls have broadened creative possibilities and the perception of the three-dimensional experience for artists and designers.
In his Crossing Boundaries lectures titled, ‘Digitally Crafted: Digital Design and Fabrication’, Lee, an assistant professor of Graphic Design at Appalachian State University in North Carolina in the United States, will share not only the success and failure of the toolmaking process, but also his ongoing research efforts to develop, test, and find the place of the emerging technologies in creative practices.
The first lecture will take place on Tuesday, February 5 at 12:45pm at the Atrium at VCUarts Qatar. The second lecture will take place on Thursday, February 7 at 4pm at Qatar National Library.
The lectures will be presented in English. All are welcome at both lectures and no prior registration is required.
