DOHA: The crew of the Omani ship, Sultanate has visited Katara in its fourth stop as part of its ‘Sail of cooperation 2015 to GCC countries’ voyage.
Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti accompanied members of the crew on a tour of facilities at Katara and introduced them to upcoming projects.
Dr Al Sulaiti praised the level of cultural cooperation between Katara and Oman shown by holding cultural events and activities.
The Fath Al Kheir 2 dhow on historic voyage docked at Sur port in Oman on its way to India and will have another stop in Muscat in its return to Doha. He praised the reception ceremony organised in Oman for the ship captain and sailors of the dhow. “We are proud to visit this cultural edifice. It is a cultural landmark in Qatar and the GCC countries,” said ship captain Commodore Saif bin Nasser Al Rahabi on their visit to Katara.
The ship docked at Doha port while carrying youngsters from GCC countries and affiliates in the UK, Germany, Hungary, Australia, Uruguay, South Africa, the Netherlands, Canada and Czech Republic on board. Omani Ambassador Mohammed bin Nasser Al Wahaibi praised Katara’s efforts and the unique reception for the crew.
