DOHA: Disney’s Beauty and The Beast original Broadway musical will be staged from December 10 to 19 at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) Theatre.
The show is part of an international tour of Asia and the Middle East to celebrate its 20th anniversary. It is brought to Doha by Disney Theatrical Productions, Broadway Entertainment Group and NETworks Presentations in cooperation with Qatar’s Premium Events. “We are happy that the first original Broadway musical coming to Doha is Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Qatar has been waiting for this show for long and we are proud to make that happen,” says Premium Events’ Christoph Helbig.

This is part of QTA’s mission to plan, regulate, develop and promote sustainable tourism in Qatar to drive economic growth and enable family-focused recreation.
Based on the 1991 Academy-Award-winning animated feature film, Disney’s Beauty and The Beast premiered on Broadway in 1994, where it was nominated for nine Tony Awards and ran for 13 years. Since licensing of the title began in 2004, there have been productions in 22 countries, seen by over 35 million people, translated into eight languages with over 28,000 performances, equivalent to a run of 67 years, generating over $1.7bn in revenue.
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out.
