Washington: Two people were killed Friday in a small plane crash and fire near an airport in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado, US.
Deborah Takahara, a spokeswoman for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, said the incident occurred just south of Centennial Airport, noting that it was initially reported as an explosion.
She noted that the cause of the small plane crash is not yet known, while media outlets reported that it crashed in a parking lot within an industrial office complex.
Authorities announced an investigation into the circumstances of the accident, noting that determining responsibility could take at least a week or a month.
