Doha: H E Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kawari, Cultural Adviser at the Emiri Diwan and Qatar’s candidate to the post of Unesco Director-General, yesterday received an invitation by China’s Minister of Culture Luo Shugang to visit the country and present his election program in mid-October.
China’s Ambassador Li Chen handed the invitation to Dr Al Kawari during a meeting.
Dr. Al Kawari accepted the invitation and said China is a main stop of his overseas visits to present his electoral programme under the theme ‘Towards a New Start for Unesco’.
During his visit to China, Dr. Al Kawari will also hold meetings with officials engaged in the culture and education fields as well as writers and intellectuals.
