Doha: Attorney General H E Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al Marri has ordered the arrest of a public prosecution employee who disclosed secrets relating to an ongoing investigation by the Public Prosecution.
The Public Prosecution said in a statement that the employee in question had filmed a document related to a legal case under investigation and published it on social media in violation of the provisions of the law.
Due to the seriousness of the crime being committed by some people, Dr Al Marri stressed that any employee in the public sector or private sector, who publishes any information or documents entrusted thereto, shall be liable to criminal liability in accordance with Article 332 of the Penal Code penalising whoever divulges a secret entrusted thereto in his official capacity.
