The State Cabinet yesterday approved a proposal made by the Ministry of Interior to amend some provisions of the ministerial decision No. 33 of 2010 on the establishment of the National Committee for Traffic Safety.
According to the proposal, the members of the said committee shall include the Minister of Transport and Communications who will be the first vice-chairman of the committee.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud chaired the Cabinet's regular weekly meeting at the Emiri Diwan premises yesterday.
The meeting also approved a draft agreement establishing a joint committee for economic, commercial and technical cooperation between the governments of Qatar and Ukraine.
It also approved a draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Angola.
The meeting also gave approval to a draft cooperation agreement in the field of agriculture between Qatar's Ministry of Municipality and Environment and Latvia's Ministry of Agriculture.
The Cabinet approved a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of health between the governments of Qatar and the Philippines.
It also approved a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of youth and sports between Qatar's Ministry of Culture and Sports and Malta's Ministry of Education and Employment.
The Cabinet's regular weekly meeting reviewed the following topics and took appropriate decisions. They are a recommendation by Advisory Council on a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 8 of 1990 concerning the regulation of human food control; a memorandum by the Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs on a proposal to form a national committee to prepare the second periodic report of the State of Qatar on the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women; and recommendations of the committee formed to study the proposals of the National Committee for Traffic Safety on road traffic congestion and the views of the concerned authorities in this regard.
