DOHA: Tourist visas will soon be made available online, a senior official of the Ministry of Interior has said.
Most of the services of the Passports Department have been made available online. The remaining paper transactions like issuance of tourist visas will soon be electronic, a statement on the ministry website quoted Maj. Nasser Jaber Al Maliki, Head, Travel Permits Section, Airport Passports Department, as saying. “The steps reflect the ministry’s keenness to digitalise services to assist people to complete their transactions easily.” ‘Return visas’ for people under personal sponsorship can be applied online through the ministry’s website Metrash2, or self-service kiosks. Maj. Nasser Al Maliki urged citizens and residents to utilise Metrash2 and self-service kiosks in shopping centres and at ministries, Hukoomi web portal and service centres across the state and save time and efforts.
