•     There is talk about the plan of the Supreme Education Council to introduce visual arts as a subject in the school curriculum.
•     There is talk on social networking sites about the death of Qatari artist Hilal Mohammad in a huge fire at a farmhouse in Al Shahaniya.
•     People have criticised a massage centre for displaying a picture at its entrance showing a woman massaging a man. They want to know if women really are massaging men there or if it is just an advertisement. They are also asking whether such an advertisement is reasonable and acceptable to the authorities.
•     Several people have appealed to banks to recruit more staff for their branches to reduce waiting times for customers. Some branches also need to expand their facilities to accommodate the growing number of customers.
•     Some people have demanded that the authorities review construction in residential areas because some construction sites are not properly fenced, and as a result construction material can fall over passers-by.
•     There are growing complaints from residents of Umm Qarn about old houses being turned into garbage dumps, and demands to develop them as tourist spots after carrying out the required maintenance work, as was done with other old structures that were restored by the authorities.
