The Onattukara Pravasi Association Qatar (OPAQ) celebrated its fourth anniversary on Friday at Ashoka Hall at Indian Cultural Centre, Doha.
OPAQ has around 500 members and is an association of expatriates from five taluks of Kerala, India, including Karunagappally, Karthikappally, Mavelikara, Chengannur and Adoor.
Cine artist Ashokan, Chief Patron K K sudhakaran, President C K Anandan and General Secretary Maliakkal Sathar lighted the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the celebration. Cine artist Zeenath distributed merit awards to students who achieved outstanding performance in CBSE Examinations in 2013.
Ahmed Shajahan, Shahina Salim, Pooja Ajeesh, Aiswarya Pradeep and Sajid Salim received awards.
