Artist Inas Al Soqi opens her solo exhibition “Empty Empire” tomorrow at Katara Art Center’s inner courtyard gallery, “The Very Small Tiny Little Gallery.”
Al Soqi’s artistic influences can be traced to her youth spent in Romania and Kuwait, both cultures rich in artistic craft, but where fine art struggles with centuries of tradition. The collage work evokes a satirical sense of class, nobility, and sensibility through vibrant often ironic juxtapositions of patterns, colors and textures. "The Very Small Tiny Little Gallery" is a movable and compact exhibition space within Katara Art Center. This is a space for site specific works, installations, video art, and art pieces in smaller sizes.
