Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will put in place a temporary diversion on part of Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street for a distance of 700 metres near Al Rayyan Police Station and in both directions, as shown in the map. The diversion will start from Friday May 6, 2016 and will last for 9 months.
During this period, traffic will be diverted to a newly constructed road adjacent to the closed road with the same number of lanes, as shown in the map.
Access to key public services, such as Al Rawabi Woqod Petrol Station and the Al Rayyan Police Station, will be available through a signal-controlled intersection near Al Busayer Street.
The diversion is required to implement works to the main carriageway and continue utility works, as part of the first phase of Al Rayyan Road Upgrade project which aims to increase the road capacity and enhance the traffic safety in the area. The project includes major works to develop the infrastructure, install Intelligent Transport Systems, in addition to other works.
Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the closure.
