DOHA: The Ministry of Public Health has temporarily shut down a pharmacy in the Industrial Area for violating Article 41 of Law No. 3 on organising pharmacy practice and drug companies.
The violation was detected during a campaign by inspectors from the Pharmacy and Drug Monitoring Department at the ministry to ensure if it met international standards of storing and selling medicines.
Dr Aisha Ibrahim Al Ansari, Director of the department, stressed the ministry’s keenness to guarantee and apply safety standards of drugs and said they will not tolerated any violation.
She said the inspection drive will continue against erring public and private pharmacies to ensure no counterfeit drugs are sold.
The ministry urged the people to report any violation or complaint or contact the ministry during working hours on 44315638 or 33334746 on non-working days.
