Dodgers’ Ryu sidelined after sore shoulder

 MIAMI:   South Korean pitcher Ryu Hyun-Jin was placed on Major League Baseball’s 15-day disabled list yesterday by the Los Angeles Dodgers with a left shoulder inflammation.
The Dodgers did not immediately announce who would take the mound for Ryu’s scheduled start in Miami today.
Ryu’s stint was backdated to start April 28, a day after he surrendered six runs on nine hits over five innings in a loss to the Colorado Rockies.
The 27-year-old left-hander had been solid in each of his three prior starts .
He stands 3-2 with a 3.00 earned-run average over seven appearances this season.
After spending seven season with with the Hanwha Eagles in his homeland’s top league.
Ryu joined the Dodgers and became the first South Korean to be used as a starting pitcher in a North American major league game last April.
Ryu helped South Korea win Olympic gold in 2008 and helped his homeland’s stars reach the final of the 2009 World Baseball Classic. where they lost to Japan.
At 17-12, the Dodgers trail National League West division leader San Francisco by one loss.
