DOHA: Souq Waqif is holding a festival from today to coincide with the spring break at schools.
It has lined up entertainment and cultural events that will continue for 15 days.
The souq is a popular destination among tourists, citizens and expatriates.
The events are being organised by the Celebrations Committee to mark the second semester break at schools. It is an opportunity for people to spend time enjoying events during the festival.
The festival include programmes for adults and children, art work displays by Souq Waqif Centre for Art. About 30 Qatari, Arab and foreign artists will make paintings on the environment and related issues front of people.
The souq management said it is holding a longer festival this time as it expected huge crowds compared to last year.The Peninsula
