Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed on Sunday the prospect of a new German government again led by Chancellor Angela Merkel, calling the vote by the Social Democrats "good news for Europe."
"This is good news for Europe. France and Germany will work together starting in the coming weeks to develop new initiatives for advancing the European project," Macron's office said.
