DOHA: The Arab Interior Ministers Council has condemned the Qataris’ abduction in Iraq, calling on the Iraqi authorities to exert more efforts to free them and guarantee their safety.
The council , in the final communiqué of its 33rd session that ended on Wednesday, expressed condemnation of all forms and sources of terrorism.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani led a delegation to the session.
The ‘Tunisia declaration for combating terrorism’ also decried all acts of terrorism, including those aimed at sectarian or racial minorities, perpetrated by radical organisations or sectarian militias.
It lambasted all forms of terrorism and its financing, affirming rejection of all acts of blackmail, threats and extortion practiced by terrorist groups to finance their crimes. It called on all states to abide by UN resolutions, and declared the council’s member states’ determination to pursue the fight against terrorism
