Doha: Six educators and public schools won in the 2025 competitions of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance, in a participation that reflects the development of the state's education system and its distinction at both the institutional and individual levels.
Established in 1998 in the United Arab Emirates, the award is one of the most prominent regional awards in the education sector. It features high standards aimed at supporting education quality, motivating outstanding personnel, nurturing talent and innovation, and enhancing institutional performance in schools.
Qatar's participation this year was successful across various categories. In the Distinguished Teacher category, teacher Moza Saeed Al Muraikhi from Al Khwarizmi Primary School for Girls won, along with Mohammed Ali Al Hail from Abdullah bin Ali Al Misnad Secondary School for Boys, and Ghaleb Saleh Shajaa from Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys.
Inas Mahmoud Hassan from Ruqayya Preparatory School for Girls won in the Distinguished Educator category, which is being offered for the first time at the level of Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
In the Distinguished School category, Al Khansa Primary School for Girls and Sumaya Primary School for Girls both won awards.
These results reflect the joint efforts of schools, teachers, students, and their families, in addition to institutional support that promotes the adoption of advanced educational practices.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education affirms its commitment to continuing the development of the education system and empowering talent, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to build an education system rooted in quality and excellence.
