Birla Public School celebrates Annual Sports Day

The Al Wakrah stadium was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere on November 10, 2018 as Birla Public School celebrated its Annual Sports Day. Almost 700 students participated in the events. The Chief Guest, Samba and Nilangshu Dey graced the occasion. The chief guest emphasized that how important sports is in a child’s life. The chief guest was happy to observe the untiring efforts invested by the school to achieve excellence in all spheres of education and personality development of the students. In his address, he congratulated the achievers for their commendable performance in sports and academics and urged to equip themselves with versatile talents to take on the challenges of life.

The programme began with a melodious Arabic Stick Dance followed by thrilling pyramid formation which was an epitome of perfect equilibrium performed amidst thunderous applause by the gathering , then flag hoisting followed by Qatar National Anthem and National Anthem of India, march past by all the four houses Mars ,Neptune, Jupiter and Saturn. The gathering witnessed another sound of high voltage track and field events of 100m, 200m,400m, 4x100m inter house relay, etc.

In the Girls -Category Junior 1 Minha Fathima of V-N scored 11 points from Jupiter house.In Junior 2- Category Andria Mary Shynu bagged 15 points of VI-M from Jupiter House.In the Intermediate Category it was Nuha Zakiya who scored 13 points of VII- M from Saturn House.In the Senior Category Harsha Jackson of X-A from Saturn House and in Super Senior Category Sindhu Nithyananda of XI-D from Mars House scored 13 points each. They were the individual champions in Girls category.

In the boys Category Junior 1 Bala Mohan Krishna of V-J from Saturn House, in junior category 2 Adhishesh Chitrakumar of VI-I from Mars House,in intermediate category Azam Ahamed of VII K from Neptune House,in senior and super senior category Amil Rajesh and Ashvin Viju of X-D and XII -H from Neptune and Mars house stood as individual champions. All of them bagged 15 points each.

The events filled in the hearts of everyone with the spirit of sportsmanship and unity .The students displayed a wide array of colorful and reverberant events. They mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances.
