DOHA: United Development Company (UDC) is participating in the 5th Civil Defence Exhibition and Conferences as platinum sponsor. The event, being held under the patronage of Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Khalifa Al Thani, was opened at Doha Exhibition Center yesterday. The exhibition and conference showcase and evaluate fire safety issues and latest technological advancements to ensure the safety of personnel in local industries.
Displayed at the UDC stand are latest technology solutions used in the field of safety and construction, particularly at the company’s construction sites in the Pearl-Qatar, and senior state officials and personalities visiting the stand were introduced to the company’s experiences in this field. “The safety and protection of our residents, infrastructure, and community is our priority,” UDC President and CEO Ibrahim Al Othman said, speaking specifically about the Pearl-Qatar.
“As a socially responsible corporate citizen, we are delighted to contribute to the exhibition, which highlights progress we have made. The event allows us to network and meet other individuals and organisations and discover new ways, methods and technologies that will improve safety standards for everyone.
“We are also in cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defence to ensure all contractors operating on the Island comply with construction regulations in Qatar and receive fire safety and other clearances.”
The Pearl-Qatar facilities and common areas are equipped with latest firefighting technology. Everything from safely working at dangerous heights to safe use of machinery to wearing correct personal protective equipment and clothing is required and followed.
