Birla Public School students pose for a group photo while distributing Iftar boxes among commuters.
A team of Birla Public School (BPS) students distributed Iftar boxes to the motorists stuck on road near the D Ring Road traffic signals.
The team comprised Raees Najeeb, Haneefa Anandu Hirosh, Mohammed Sabeth Ibrahim, Adnan Shafi, Senin Sharaf, Atif Ashraf, Siddharth Ajan, Shon Shaji, Madhan Manaj, Akash Bijumon, Amil Rajesh, Mohammed Nidhal and Mohammed Rihal.
The students distributed 80 boxes to commuters. Iftar kits included juice, water, dates and other items. The kits were purchased by the students with their own pocket money and the funds collected from their schoolmates. The student volunteers prepared boxes themselves before taking them to the spot for distribution.
Earlier on May 24 , BPS students distributed more than 200 Iftar boxes in D Ring Road area.
They came up with this initiative when they found that people were getting stuck in traffic during the Iftar time and finding it difficult to reach their homes in time to break their fast.
The students’ motive was strengthened by the actions of Qatar police.
The volunteers were surprised to see all of their fellow school students and staff supporting the initiative.
School Principal A P Sharma, and Vice-Principal Rajesh Pillai also joined them to appreciate their good deed.
