•     Some people have demanded that the authorities ban the use of gas stoves in eateries and cafeterias at petrol stations, and allow them to use only electric stoves to prevent any accidents. Restaurant workers do not know how to handle gas cylinders, they say.
•     There are demands that the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) blacklist contracting companies that miss deadlines for completing projects, take punitive action against them, and not deal with them in future.
•     Several people have demanded that the authorities curb trading without a licence in Souq Haraj and draw up some rules for businesses there because some customers are being cheated by illegal vendors selling products that might be stolen or expired.
•     Some parents have complained about some private schools charging QR200 to QR500 for admission tests. Following the test they say there are no places left, but they do not return the money. The parents are asking why the schools conduct admission tests if they do not have vacant seats.
•     There are demands that the Consumer Protection Department launch an inspection drive against grocery stores to check their high prices. Commodities at grocery stores in residential areas are priced higher than in big commercial centres, and it is said that some grocery shops buy commodities during discount offers at shopping complexes and then sell them at higher prices.
•     There are demands that the authorities devise a mechanism to dispose of leftover medicines, and launch an awareness campaign to educate citizens about dealing with leftover medicines at home. Some people dispose of medicines the wrong way, throwing them into the dustbin or drains.
