On a cold and windswept winter morning saw the ever sportive and enthusiastic kindergarteners of Birla Public School (BPS) ready for yet another endeavour, recently. The 16th Kindergarten Sports Day was declared open by the Principal, A P Sharma. The occasion was graced by C V Rappai, Director, VicePrincipals Radhika, Bhavna, and Rajesh Pillai. Josephine, the KG Coordinator welcomed the guests.
The opening events started off with a scintillating March Past led by loud booming of the drums, followed by the prayer and welcome song.
The colourful and rhythmic drills, the Zumba dance, with sprightly performers added to warm up the otherwise cold morning. Various races like the relay, flat race and the obstacle race had the ebullient finalists running their fastest to reach the finishing lines. Races like the busy bees had the kids swarming to win. The froggy jump had the kids take a dip in the ponds. The fastest bunny got his carrot and the fastest penguin, his fish.
The balloon bursting game for the parents was a fun time for the guests. The kindergarten teachers, who saved the lemons on their spoons till they reached the finishing line, were winners of the game.
The vibrant closing ceremony depicting the national integrity of Qatar and India, and the declaration of the close of sports meet, culminated the memorable event amidst great euphoria and gaiety, and a sense of achievement and excitement.
