The organising committee for the Qatar National Day celebrations announced that proceeds from the sale of a part of in-kind donations collected from the Aleppo fundraising campaign amounted to QR 1.875m.
Another sale of a range of gold jewellery displayed by humanitarian organisations that participated in the fundraising campaign reached QR 1.4m.
The auction, held in Dar Al Bahi Auction House at Katara on Monday evening, included a number of classic and modern motorcycles and distinctive number plates and various pieces of jewellery, as well as a range of accessories and antiquarian items.
The committee launched Aleppo fundraising campaign on December 18 last year, and announced that it collected more than QR290m since the campaign launch in Darb El Saai along with in-kind donations for the people of Aleppo.
The organising committee held the event in coordination with Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities and with the participation of five charities—Qatar Charity, Eid Charity, Qatar Red Crescent Society, RAF and Afif Charity.
