DOHA: Hundreds of people had free health checks at the Health and Safety campaign stand set up by Kulluna during the Awareness and Supported Elements Exhibition at Doha Exhibition Center recently.
The inaugural fair was held to raise awareness about issues, including health, security and culture.
The free checkups provided by healthcare professionals at the stand included blood cholesterol, blood sugar, height, weight, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI).
Kulluna is a national, health and safety awareness campaign, founded by Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Hamad International Training Centre (HITC) with Conoco Phillips Qatar as the founding sponsor.
During the last three years, Kulluna has launched campaigns which have addressed essential health and safety issues within the community.
Tens of thousands of people living and working in Qatar have been positively impacted through the campaigns.
The stand featured popular ‘Healthy Heart’ checks and showcased child home safety, child car passenger safety and the ‘Beat the Heat’ campaign.
Dr Khalid Abdulnoor Saifeldeen, Director, HITC, said the exhibition aimed to raise awareness about social issues and Kulluna was pleased to have participated and spread important health and safety messages to a wider audience.
“Spreading awareness about proactive safety measures people can take is the first step towards bringing the community together to create an accident free environment,” he said.
“Creating a safe environment whether at home, in our workplaces or where we go to socialise is important. “Kulluna has been successful because we have been able to get across our messages of health and safety in an interactive and compelling way. “Participating in exhibitions like this one is an important part of that,” he added.
