The attack on the city of Aleppo has impacted a Primary Health Care Center managed by Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) in Al-Sakhoor area and deprived thousands of civilians of much-needed medical assistance. In yesterday's attack, two patients killed and eight injured due to approximately four bombs dropped from a helicopter on QRCS Primary Healthcare Center. These airstrikes have led to 50% damage of the medical center which put the QRCS healthcare center out of service.

QRCS also condemned the attacks on Al-Sakhoor hospital, a local ambulance and other medical facilities that are supported by international NGOs. Moreover, QRCS calls upon the international community to intervene and put an end to such direct attacks on medical and health facilities in Syria.

Dr. Hashem Darwish, Head of Health Program at QRCS's Mission in Turkey, said, "This direct targeting of the primary healthcare center in Al-Sakhoor area of Aleppo, which have killed and injured a number of patients who were visiting the center, is a war crime and a violation of the Protocols of 1977 additional to the Geneva conventions of 1949 that recognizes the importance of protecting the Red Cross and Red Crescent national societies, other authorized impartial relief organizations, and neutral governments that provide humanitarian service in areas of conflict".

QRCS's healthcare center was established in April, 2016, and was partially funded by Humanitarian Pooled Fund (HPF) to provide health care and general medical treatment to 250,000 civilians who live in Aleppo, according to UN reports.?
