KPMG to hold seminar on FATCA US tax legislation

Doha: The impact of the USA’s Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) legislation on the Qatar financial market and the recent developments over the past few months will be discussed at a breakfast seminar this week hosted by audit, tax and advisory firm KPMG.

The seminar will be held at the St Regis Hotel, Doha on Thursday and targets CFOs, heads of companies and other interested senior individuals from the financial industry. 

The conference will include presentations from Julio Castro, US tax partner, KPMG in the UK, and Rachit Batham, Manager Financial Services, KPMG in India. 

One of the key developments in FATCA has been has been around the Intergovernmental Agreements (IGA) in which there has been significant interest by major European and Asian countries to protect their local financial industry and to ease the burden of complying with FATCA.
